As a Miami native, Philip has always shared an affinity for the outdoors and being immersed in nature whenever possible. Before pursuing a career in Landscape Architecture, Philip was schooled in the fine arts from an early age where he initially hoped to have a successful career in Illustration. Shortly after being accepted to The Ringling School of Art and Design, Philip decided that he wanted more than a career in 2D art, but still be able to apply his artistic abilities elsewhere. Philip later enrolled at the School of Architecture and Interior Design at Miami Dade College, laying the foundation for his path to Landscape Architecture.

While receiving his education in Architecture, Philip worked as an intern for the City of Miami Planning Department for over a year and half where he met the influences and mentors that guided and fueled his passion for Landscape Architecture and city planning. After earning an Associate of Arts Degree in Architecture at Miami Dade College, Philip enrolled in the Florida International University School of Landscape Architecture Master’s Degree program where he received a School of Landscape Architecture Award of Honor in Design and Communication for his master’s thesis project, “Urban Acupuncture” in impoverished communities.

Shortly after graduating from Florida International University, he began working at RJI as a Designer and is now an Associate. Philip works on a wide range of projects at various scales and all aspects of the design process, from concept design through construction administration, which include single and multi-family residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and commercial projects in South Florida and throughout the Caribbean.
