Christopher was born and raised in Colorado, spending much of his free time outdoors; in the Rockies or maintaining his annual neighborhood lawn mowing business. After studying Percussion Performance and Cultural Studies at the University of Northern Colorado, Christopher moved to Berlin, Germany. Exposure to this exceptionally rich urban fabric and high-quality built environment awakened Christopher’s desire to become involved with the design and creation of beautiful, functional, and meaningful outdoor places. As a result, he went on to pursue a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Idaho.

Christopher was influenced by his grandfather’s occupation as a steel mill worker and was captivated by the imaginative extent that Landscape Architecture contributed to the transformation of the post-industrial Ruhr region of Germany. He utilized his German skills to conduct a case study of post-industrial landscapes and subsequent thesis design project re-envisioning the derelict Carrie Blast Furnaces near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Christopher began his professional career in Seattle and practiced throughout the Pacific Northwest, gaining experience in residential, multi-family, parks and trails, public project involvement and land planning. He relocated to Miami in 2019 to join RJI and has enjoyed South Florida’s vibrant culture, dynamic music and arts scene, and warm, sunny climate.
