Originally from Northwest Michigan, Britta spent her early life immersed in the forest and lakeshore. Following her affinity for the natural aesthetic, she attended Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and graduated as a member of the Sigma Lambda Alpha Landscape Architecture Honor Fraternity. In her time there she took part in a study abroad program across Europe. During her trip, she kept a sketchbook of design details and drawings which fostered an appreciation for intricacy in design.
Throughout her career Britta has practiced in the Boston area and Detroit. She has worked on a wide array of projects with various regional challenges including residential, multi-family, streetscapes, civic spaces, parks, and master planning. While practicing in Detroit she was involved in many revitalization projects that have been an integral part of the renaissance that the city is experiencing. Now practicing in Miami, she is loving the beautiful weather and inspiring plant material. The serenity that surroundings can provoke is something that she aspires to capture as a landscape architect. She has a passion for obtaining a feeling or moment in what she designs. Her other interests include exploring new places, practicing yoga, spending time on the water, and lounging on the beach with her dog Otis.
