Willem is a landscape designer from Hastings-on-Hudson, a small town in Westchester, New York. He grew up exploring the iconic urban landscapes of New York City; his personal favorites include Central Park, the Highline, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Bryant Park. It was through these experiences that he discovered the positive social and ecological impacts that landscape architecture can have.
Willem earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he translated his background in graffiti and painting into his design process. He is also inspired by his Dutch grandfather, an architect who introduced him to architecture at a young age. Willem has found landscape architecture to be the perfect platform to bring his creativity into the workplace, using innovative solutions to strengthen the relationship between people and nature.
Outside of work, Willem loves to cook, paint, play soccer, and spend time with friends. After relocating to Miami from New York, he is looking forward to the warm Miami weather, excellent cuisine, and scenic beaches.
